Alyssa Laughner, B.A
Psychologist-In-Training
Welcome! I am honored to help you take the next step of your journey. I am interested and curious about your needs and areas of concern. We will create a treatment plan reflective of your current stage of growth. This might include developing concrete coping skills, exploring issues from your past, or identifying choice point for living differently. Through an empowering relationship, my hope is to help you gain self-acceptance and clarity about your life situation.
I will integrate aspects of interpersonal, feminist, and acceptance commitment therapy. Through these approaches, you will feel more capable of managing your life and to develop flexibility for life’s challenges and openness to the person who you are today. My style is curious, compassionate, and engaged.
I have experience working with of most ages and common presenting concerns. I also welcome those who are seeking a therapist with special understanding of identity concerns, gender and sexuality, relationships, ADHD, those struggling socially from mild-moderate autism, and those who might self-identify as neurodivergent.
Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking, running, rock climbing, making art, and loving on my cats.
I am currently a doctoral student in clinical psychology, am supervised by licensed psychologist Dr. Todd R. Avellar, and provide services via a low-cost “sliding-scale” basis.
